Many of us hold tension in our neck and shoulders due to stress and long hours spent at the computer or in the car. Tight muscles in your neck and shoulders are sore and painful, and they can compress the upper spine and shoulder girdle, causing a number of problems. Chronically contracted neck and shoulder muscles can lead to frozen shoulder, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, disc problems, rotator cuff issues, and numbness in the hands and arms due to compression of the cervical vertebrae.
